The City of Edinburgh Council is the local government authority for the city of Edinburgh, capital of Scotland. With a population of over 500,000, it is the second most populated council area in Scotland.

About the organisation

The Public Safety Team gives advice to people who organise events in Edinburgh, as well as making sure that they comply with current legislation, We also provide expert guidance on safety issues at the events. The team chairs Event Planning and Operations Group meetings to ensure the events run smooth and safely.

We also issue and administer Safety Certificates for Sports Grounds, permits for raised structures and work with licensing to make sure licensed premises meet the required standards and conditions.
